If you'd like chiropractic care, Dr. Alex visits Burlington homes too. Treatment depends on your assessment and may include adjustments (always optional), joint mobilization, soft tissue therapy, assisted stretching and a short home exercise plan.

Common questions

Home physiotherapy and chiropractic in Burlington: questions

Area

Do you come to my home anywhere in Burlington?

Yes, home visits cover Burlington, including Aldershot, Brant Hills, Headon Forest, Millcroft, Orchard and Alton Village. If you're on the edge of town, call and we'll confirm.

Seniors

Can you help an older parent in Burlington stay safe at home?

Often, yes. Helena can work on balance, strength and getting up and down stairs in the actual home, suggest simple changes to reduce trip hazards, and, as a registered ADP authorizer, help with a walker or rollator if one is needed.

Surgery

Can I get physiotherapy at home after surgery at Joseph Brant Hospital?

Yes. Helena can start your rehab at home once you're discharged. She follows your surgeon's protocol and precautions. Some people also qualify for publicly funded physio through the hospital or Ontario Health atHome, so ask your surgical team.

Referral

Do I need a doctor's referral for physiotherapy or chiropractic?

No, you can book either directly in Ontario. Some insurance plans ask for a doctor's note before they reimburse physiotherapy, so check your plan.

Coverage

Is in-home physiotherapy covered by insurance?

Doorstep Doc visits are private. Many extended health plans include physiotherapy and chiropractic, so check your plan's details before your first visit.

Choosing

Should I see the physiotherapist or the chiropractor?

It depends on the problem and what you prefer. Book a 15-minute phone call to ask questions and figure out whether physio, chiro or both makes sense for you.

Space

How much space do I need for a home visit?

Physiotherapy visits don't need a table: Helena works with the space you have. For chiropractic, Dr. Alex's folding table needs about the size of a yoga mat, plus room to walk around it.
